Ski Touring in Tyrol
Ski touring is a sport which is booming right now. It involves walking up the mountain using special skins fitted to the bottom of the skis which give traction on the snow. Once at the top, there is plenty of time to admire the view and take a few selfies before skiing back down through untouched powder. The region around Lake Walchsee is a haven for ski touring fans in winter. Popular tours include those to the Heuberg mountain (1,603m) and the Karkopf (1,510m) north of Kranzach.
