Family-friendly Zahmer Kaiser ski resort

Small but perfectly formed – that is the best way to describe the Zahmer Kaiser - Walchsee ski resort. It can be reached in just five minutes by car from the Hotel Seehof and is particularly popular with families thanks to its flexible prices and children's discounts as well as the calm and relaxed atmosphere.

The resort's wide, easy slopes make it the perfect place for children, beginners and those getting back into skiing after a while away. Alternative winter activities in the resort include two toboggan runs and a number of cosy huts between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level serving traditional local food.

Ski Touring
in Tyrol

Far from the madding crowd

Ski touring is a sport which is booming right now. It involves walking up the mountain using special skins fitted to the bottom of the skis which give traction on the snow. Once at the top, there is plenty of time to admire the view and take a few selfies before skiing back down through untouched powder. The region around Lake Walchsee is a haven for ski touring fans in winter. Popular tours include those to the Heuberg mountain (1,603m) and the Karkopf (1,510m) north of  Kranzach.
