Far from the busy ski resorts and noisy cable cars lies a winter wonderland just waiting to be explored. The Kaiserwinkl region has a network comprising 80km of winter hiking and snowshoe hiking trails catering for all ages and fitness levels.

Tobogganing is one of those sports which children and adults alike simply love. After walking up to the top of the run, there is time to stop at the hut for a warming drink and snack before whizzing back down into the valley. There are a total of three toboggan runs in the Kaiserwinkl region. Toboggans can be borrowed free of charge at the Hotel Seehof.
Ice skating on the natural ice rink in Walchsee is a great way to enjoy the landscape and the fresh mountain air in winter.
The rink is just five minutes from the centre of the village and is open daily.
On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday it is floodlit until 22:00.
There is nothing more romantic in winter than a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snowy landscape. Wrapped up warm in cosy blankets, visitors cruise through fields and villages in a traditional wooden carriage pulled by calm and friendly horses. A real highlight for all the family.
There's much more to winter in Tyrol than just skiing and snowboarding. A great alternative activity in the cold months of the year is snowtubing (available daily at the Staffnerhoflift from 10:00 until 16:00). Floodlit night tubing is available from Wednesday to Sunday between 18:00 and 22:00.
Or how about snowbiking? This popular sport invites guests to apply their bike-handling skills on the slippy and unpredictable snow. Fun guaranteed!
